Remembering Sheila, Gardening, picking fruit, eating on the spot. Helping harvest dinner, clasping her willow trug. Bonfires, climbing trees, a disused chicken coup. Warm welcomes, home-made food, always filled with love. Apple pies, sausage rolls, garlic bread with soup, All her jams and preserves. Neatly made beds, a port hole window, Children’s books all stacked. Croquet, walks in woods, home-made orange juice. Lying in her conservatory, birds outside, listening to tales of sparrow hawks or a Roger and Jude surprise. Birthday jumpers … a ‘Helen’ label. Grandma checking, every deadline, late night phone calls. Always read my essays, never missed a cause! Fiercely independent, proud. Proud of me, Loved her so much “Would you like a cup-u-tea” XxX
